Admissions

Schools in the Diocese of Charleston admit students of any race, color, national or ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded or made available to students at the school.

Priority admission is given first to current students and their siblings. Secondly, to parishioners of one of the Catholic parishes on the Charleston Peninsula (Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, St. Mary of the Annunciation, St. Patrick, or Sacred Heart Catholic Church). Thirdly, parishioners from other Catholic parishes in the Greater Charleston area are admitted. Finally, to all other children in the Charleston community.

Application Requirements

To enter K-4, the child must be 4 by 9/1 and potty trained.

To enter Kindergarten, the child must be age 5 by 9/1 and potty trained.

To enter Grade 1, the child must be age 6 by 9/1 and successfully completed an accredited K5 program.

When applying, a birth certificate, baptismal certificate, parishioner verification form (Catholics Only), Current Report Card (Grades 1 – 8), SC Immunization Certificate, Standardized Test Scores (Grades 1 – 8), Documentation related to medical, cognitive, behavioral, special need etc. and signed request for school records.  Acceptance is provisional until all records are received and it has been determined that The Charleston Catholic School can serve a student’s particular needs.

Verification of registration at one of the area Catholic parishes will be required of all parents of Catholic students in order to qualify for the special Catholic rates.

The non-refundable application fee is $50.00 per student.
