Principal’s Message

November 20, 2015

CCS Families,

Today, we are sending home several important papers to you. First,
for Grades 1-3, please look for envelopes with progress reports for
second quarter. Second, for First Grade, please look for your
child’s CogAT test scores in the progress report envelope. Third,
for Grades 3-8, please look for envelopes with your children’s ITBS
test scores. Please review these documents and schedule an
appointment with your child’s homeroom teacher if you want any
explanations.

We have two regular school days next week, Monday & Tuesday, 8:00am
to 3:00pm, with Aftercare on both days. We will be on Thanksgiving
break from Wednesday through Sunday. When we return to school on
Monday, Nov.30, we will have three weeks before Christmas break.

Today, Mr. Fields and I were recognized for Catholic School Principal
Appreciation Day. We are most grateful for the nice cards, well
wishes, and gift card from the CCS PTO. Both of us are privileged to
serve the students, families and faculty of The Charleston Catholic
School — 25 years for Mr. Fields and 10 years for me. Thank you to
all of our Saints.

On behalf of all of the teachers and staff, I wish you and your
families a very Happy Thanksgiving! This is a great time to count
all of our blessings and spend time with people who are very special
to us. May everyone have a truly blessed Thanksgiving holiday.

Yours in Christ,

Fred McKay

Spiritual Reflection

IN GRATITUDE
Thank you, Father, for having created us and given us to each other
in the human family. Thank you for being with us in all our joys and
sorrows, for your comfort in our sadness, your companionship in our
loneliness. Thank you for yesterday, today, tomorrow and for the
whole of our lives. Thank you for friends, for health and for grace.
May we live this and every day conscious of all that has been given
to us.

Principal Appreciation Day!

Students presented Mr. McKay and Mr. Fields gifts today during
morning prayer on behalf of the PTO.

Mission Statement

The Charleston Catholic School educates a socially diverse student
body in a nurturing family environment within the sacred tradition
and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Teachers challenge the
students to discover their own unique gifts through creative inquiry
and critical thinking in the core academic subjects and the arts.
Our small, loving environment enables students to learn self
discipline through responsible decision-making and to develop a sense
of compassion for others.
