Dear CCS Families,
This past weekend was fantastic for Charleston Catholic! On
Saturday, our ten middle school math and science club students
participated in the Bridge Building Competition at the Citadel as
part of National Engineering Week. Two of our bridges that we
submitted for the competition won first and second place for holding
100 pounds and weighing the least amount. In fact, our second place
bridge held 240 times its weight and our first place bridge held 280
times its weight. It was great to see the enthusiasm of our students
at the competition. Great job Math & Science Club!
On Sunday, our Senior Girls Basketball team won the Parochial League
Championship by defeating Christ Our King in the finals. The team
displayed great attitude, effort, sportsmanship and teamwork in their
victory (and throughout the season). Great job Lady Saints!
This weekend, our Junior Boys, Senior Girls and Senior Boys
basketball teams will compete in the Diocese of Charleston Youth
State Basketball Tournament here in the Charleston area. We wish our
teams the best in all of their games. Go Saints!
This past Thursday, February 19, we had our 1-year anniversary of
occupancy in our new school building. Again, thank you to everyone
in our school community who helped to make this new facility a
reality on our campus.
Finally, next week, we will have our Accreditation review on Tuesday
and Wednesday. We look forward to meeting with the Review team and
getting their observations about our school. On Wednesday, Feb. 25,
at 9:00 a.m. we will have our school Mass and Bishop Guglielmone will
be the celebrant. All are invited to join us for this Mass.
Yours in Christ,
The Charleston Catholic School

Dear Lord, remembering the hour when You experienced death
So that we might have Eternal Life,
May we appreciate in our hearts
the necessity of Your sacrifice for us
And with Your help, Your guidance, and Your grace,
May we be made worthy of it.
Good Luck Jr. Boys, Sr. Boys & Sr. Girls
Good luck in the Diocesan Basketball Tournament this weekend!

The Charleston Catholic School educates a socially diverse student
body in a nurturing family environment within the sacred tradition
and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Teachers challenge the
students to discover their own unique gifts through creative inquiry
and critical thinking in the core academic subjects and the arts.
Our small, loving environment enables students to learn self
discipline through responsible decision-making and to develop a sense
of compassion for others.
