Spiritual Reflection

August 12, 2014

Prayer For The Beginning of the School Year:

Lord God, we gather at the start of a new school year in your name
and in response to your invitation to teach all nations. Bless us
individually and collectively. Make fruitful the talents which you
planted within us, that we may lead our school to be a center of
faith and knowledge, a model of Christian community and an example of
mutual service. Fill each of our hearts with faith, our days with
good works, our lives with your love, and may your truth and wisdom
be present in all our actions. We ask this through Jesus Christ, our
model and Savior.

Dear CCS Families,

I hope you have had an enjoyable and relaxing summer. I would like
to welcome all new and seasoned parents to the 2014 -15 school year!

The teachers have returned to work. We were treated with a wonderful
breakfast and “survival kit”. On behalf of the teachers and faculty I
would like to thank all of you who make up the PTO and the PTO
officers for orchestrating a wonderful welcome back for all of us.

The teachers are busy getting their classrooms ready for the students
arrival on Monday, August 18, 2014, at 8:00 AM. Please remember that
Monday will be a half day with an 11:15 AM dismissal and no after

We look forward to a new and exciting school year!

Yours in Christ,

Fred McKay

Playground Dedication

The Joan Marie Keating Playground Dedication will take place on
Monday, August 18, 2014 at 10:00 AM.

Unfortunately there was a storm on Saturday, August 9th. Along with
the heavy rains and wind, the large tree on the playground fell. The
tree has been removed and we hope to have repairs completed by
Monday. Either way the dedication will go on as planned.

Welcome Miss Johnson & Mr. Ross!

We would like to welcome two new teachers to The Charleston Catholic
School this year.

Miss Johnson will be teaching 4th grade and 6th grade Science. Mr.
Ross will be the new Technology Coordinator and teaching Computer

Mission Statement

The Charleston Catholic School educates a socially diverse student
body in a nurturing family environment within the sacred tradition
and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Teachers challenge the
students to discover their own unique gifts through creative inquiry
and critical thinking in the core academic subjects and the arts.
Our small, loving environment enables students to learn self
discipline through responsible decision-making and to develop a sense
of compassion for others.
