Principal’s Message April 22, 2016

April 22, 2016

CCS Families and Friends,

This past Sunday, the announcement was made that Father Dennis
Willey, Pastor of Sacred Heart Church, would begin a new assignment
in the Diocese as Pastor of Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in
Chapin, SC, effective May 12. This means, that after almost 9 years,
Fr. Willey’s last Sunday Mass at Sacred Heart will be May 8, and his
last school Mass will be Wednesday, May 11. Sacred Heart Parish will
have a reception for him after the 11:15AM Mass on May 8, and our
school will have a reception for him after the 9:00AM school Mass on
May 11. We are most grateful to Father Willey for his years of
service to Sacred Heart and to CCS, and we wish him the best in his
new parish.

Congratulations to the CCS Chess Club for some outstanding results at
a tournament this pastTuesday. Our 3-student middle school team
earned first place in their division (Matthew, Sam and Arden). In
addition, individually, Matthew (6th grade) won first place, Sam (8th
grade) won second place, and Arden (8th grade) finished in 4th place.
Go Saints!

Only 1 week until our Gala & Auction! We are very excited that all 4
CCS principals will be in attendance. Sr. Carol Ann Kleindinst was
our first principal (1991-98); Sr. Bridget Sullivan (1998-2000); Mrs.
Yvonne Tolley Orr (2000-2006); and me (2006-present). We look
forward to a wonderful celebration of our school and Catholic
education on the Peninsula.

All the best,

Fred McKay

Spiritual Reflection

O God, author of our freedom and of our salvation, listen to the
voice of our pleading and grant that those you have redeemed by the
shedding of your Son’s Blood may have life through you and under
your protection rejoice forever unharmed. Through our Lord Jesus
Christ, your Son who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the
Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever.

Lowcountry Wheelchair!

The students had a wonderful visit from Lowcountry Wheelchair Sports.
The members of the team talked to the students about the positive
awareness of diversity and opportunities for those who have
disabilities. The students and faculty had the opportunity to
experience first hand the sport of wheelchair basketball. The crowd
went wild when Mr. McKay made a basket!
