Principal's Message January 27, 2017

Dear CCS Families and Friends,

This coming week, Charleston Catholic, as well as Catholic schools
throughout the country, will celebrate Catholic Schools Week - theme
is Communities of Faith, Knowledge and Service. This year, the focus
is on service. We will have two service projects for the students
during the week. The first project is the "No Sew Blanket". Each
homeroom class will make a blanket that we will donate to MUSC
Children's Hospital, because we have had some students recently, and
over the years, who have been patients there. The second project is
creating Valentine's Day cards for active duty military personnel.
Our "buddy classes" will work on these together with younger students
doing the art work and older students writing the "thank you for your
service" message for the cards. Service projects help students have
tangible experiences of living out the Gospel message to put others
first.

Thank you to all of our school families who completed the survey on
Catholic Identity Program Effectiveness for our Accreditation report.
The Diocese will gather data from all of our Catholic schools in
preparation for the visit by the Accreditation team in the first week
in April. We had responses from 60% of our school families, and this
is an excellent participation rate.

Yours in Christ,

Fred McKay

Principal
