Dear CCS Parents,

All of us as parents chose Charleston Catholic School for its exceptional reputation, outstanding academics and diverse student population.  The CCS Parent Teacher Organization is committed to enhancing that experience for every student, family and teacher.

To realize our potential every CCS family must be actively involved in the PTO and contribute their time and talents.  We recognize families today are incredibly busy with work, young children, sports, music lessons and other various extracurricular activities.  As parents, our responsibilities are many and our time is limited and valuable.  Your time will be respected by keeping meetings brief.  Despite the limitations on time we can still accomplish a lot by spreading out the duties among as many people as possible, which is why we have many different committees to divide and conquer.  The types of committees and roles are diverse with some being seasonal, some focused around a school event, some that are monthly, some that can be managed from home and others that require spending time at school.  In other words, we have something for everyone!  We welcome new ideas, innovative approaches, and a creative mindset.

By now you must be wondering where or how to volunteer!  This can be accomplished by emailing or calling any one of your PTO officers, listed on PTO contact page.  They will gladly help you find an appropriate volunteer opportunity that matches a need with your time and talent.  Please keep in mind that in order to work with the students in any way, on campus or off campus, you MUST complete the Virtus training program “Protecting God’s Children” and submit the required paperwork for background screening. These training classes are offered frequently by the Diocese of Charleston throughout the Charleston area, and a PTO officer or member of the school office staff can assist you in this matter.

Lastly, it is the objective of the PTO to enhance the educational experiences for the students and teachers, as well as to show our appreciation for the staff in as many ways as possible. There are endless opportunities to make a difference in the lives of the students and faculty.  Thank you for the opportunity to serve.

The CCS PTO is grateful to all our wonderful volunteers! It takes an entire school community to make all of these events possible! We look forward to working with all of you.
