Spiritual Reflection
Second Sunday of Advent Gospel of Mark 1: 1-8
“John the Baptist appeared in the desert proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins. . . . I have baptized you with water; he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.” John the Baptist calls people to Christ; he invites them to turn to God, to be converted and to be baptized. John recognizes his mission as the one who prepares the way for Jesus. We prepare ourselves spiritually during Advent through prayer, penance and reaching out to the needs of others.
