Spiritual Reflection

A Prayer to Our Blessed Mother Take my hand,

O Blessed Mother Hold me firmly lest I fall I grow nervous

while walking and Humbly on thee call.

Guide me over every crossing,

Watch me when I'm on the stairs

Let me know you're beside me listen to my fervent prayers.

Bring me to my destination

Safely along the way Bless my every undertaking

And duties for the day.

When evening creeps upon me I'll never fear to be alone Once again,

O Blessed Mother Take my hand and lead me home.

Fun with the Holy Father

Students enjoyed visiting with "Pope Francis" on Monday.

We would like to thank Sister Frances for hosting the St. Paul Books
& Media Book Fair. We hope everyone had a chance to stop by.

Principal's Message

October 10, 2014

Dear CCS Families,

Last Friday, our fifth grade class took their annual field trip to
Fort Sumter. The students had the unique opportunity (first time for
CCS) to raise the flag at the Fort. We posted that picture in last
week's Principal's Message. The students did a great job of being
attentive and well behaved throughout the field trip. Sr. Richarde
shared this statement with me from a passenger on the Fort Sumter
tour boat: seeing the CCS young people gave him confidence again that
kids are really great and good at heart. He said they were
respectful, polite and happy. He said he attributes that to their
parents and school. Great job, CCS families and teachers!

Reminder to our CCS Families: please complete the online survey for
the Internal Review for Accreditation. The data from this survey
will help us make plans for improvement for the rest of this school
year and future years. The deadline for taking the survey is October
17.

First Quarter ends on October 17. Winter uniforms begin Monday,
October 20. October 20 is also Grandparents Day.

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Friday, October 24 to
review First Quarter Report Cards. Parents will stop by the school
office to pick up their children's report cards before going to meet
with their teachers. No school for the students on October 24.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours in Christ,

Fred McKay

October is Fire Safety Month

The Firefighters from Station 8 on Huger Street visited with the K4
and K5 Classes. They reminded the children about fire safety and to
remember firemen are their friend. Fireman Jason dressed out in full
gear to show them what he would look like it there was ever a fire at
their house and they needed to help. The students even got to sit in
the fire truck!

Fishing Club Meeting 10-11-2014

CCS_FishingClubInfoSheet_Oct 11

October 6, 2014

Good Morning,

I am excited to be the organizer for the wreath sale this year!   I wanted to give some clarification regarding the ordering process:

  • The booklet shows the types of evergreens available and is color-coded to distinguish between Local Delivery and Direct Delivery.  The pages with green on top are for wreaths that will be delivered to the school for pick up by you (Local Delivery).  The pages with the red top are for wreaths that will be delivered to the recipient directly from the company (Direct Delivery).
  • The envelope order form is also divided by Local and Direct Delivery. The evergreens delivered to the school for pick up by you are located on the front of the order envelope (green grid) and the evergreens delivered directly to the recipient are located on the back of the order envelope (red grid).  The product numbers are very similar, so please make sure that you are choosing the right delivery method.
  • Additionally, if you are ordering from the green grid (delivered to school), you only need to fill out the information on the order envelope. However, if you are ordering from the red grid (home delivery), please fill out the information on the direct delivery address label form (inside the envelope) as well as the order envelope.
  • The last day to turn in orders and money is Wednesday, November 5th.

If you have any questions regarding the ordering process or wreath sale in general, please do not hesitate to contact me at mkaramus21@gmail.com.  I am attending the PTO meeting in October 14th.  I will be happy to answer questions for you at that time.

Thank you,

Michelle Karamus
