We have had a wonderful response to Grandparents Day and look forward to welcoming everyone.  Please remember there will be extra parking available on King Street at The Longshoreman’s Parking Lot and Trojan Labor.
Thank you to all of you who have so graciously offered to help, set up, prepare food, decorate, and clean up!  Thanks to you, we will have a successful Grandparents Day!!.

Principal's Message

October 10, 2014

Dear CCS Families,

Last Friday, our fifth grade class took their annual field trip to
Fort Sumter. The students had the unique opportunity (first time for
CCS) to raise the flag at the Fort. We posted that picture in last
week's Principal's Message. The students did a great job of being
attentive and well behaved throughout the field trip. Sr. Richarde
shared this statement with me from a passenger on the Fort Sumter
tour boat: seeing the CCS young people gave him confidence again that
kids are really great and good at heart. He said they were
respectful, polite and happy. He said he attributes that to their
parents and school. Great job, CCS families and teachers!

Reminder to our CCS Families: please complete the online survey for
the Internal Review for Accreditation. The data from this survey
will help us make plans for improvement for the rest of this school
year and future years. The deadline for taking the survey is October
17.

First Quarter ends on October 17. Winter uniforms begin Monday,
October 20. October 20 is also Grandparents Day.

Parent-Teacher conferences will be held on Friday, October 24 to
review First Quarter Report Cards. Parents will stop by the school
office to pick up their children's report cards before going to meet
with their teachers. No school for the students on October 24.

Have a wonderful weekend.

Yours in Christ,

Fred McKay

October is Fire Safety Month

The Firefighters from Station 8 on Huger Street visited with the K4
and K5 Classes. They reminded the children about fire safety and to
remember firemen are their friend. Fireman Jason dressed out in full
gear to show them what he would look like it there was ever a fire at
their house and they needed to help. The students even got to sit in
the fire truck!
