Dear CCS Families,We are thankful to let you know CCS is fine and
safe. Thank you ALL for your prayers and concerns. It looks like we
may need a little help with landscaping and we will let you know when
it is safe to lend a hand. Please stay home and try to keep dry. We
will keep you updated on anything that has an impact on the school as
soon as we know. There appears to be no damage a mop and some
landscaping helping hands can’t fix!All the best and with prayers we
hope to see everyone on Tuesday!

Principal’s Message

September 25, 2015

CCS Families,

What an exciting week this has been as we have been following Pope
Francis in the news! It is obvious that the Pope has been very well
received by all of the audiences that he has addressed in Washington
and New York. We expect that he will get another enthusiastic
welcome this weekend in Philadelphia. Enjoy the continued news
coverage of the Papal visit this weekend!

Next week, on Thursday, October 1st, we will welcome Mrs. Sandra
Leatherwood, Director of Catholic Education for our Diocese, to our
campus for her annual school visit. Mrs. Leatherwood will spend the
school day observing classes, talking with teachers and office staff,
and reviewing documents that the Catholic Schools Office has
requested. In addition, she will attend our school board meeting
that evening and discuss various topics with our school board
members.

Have a blessed weekend!

Yours in Christ,

Fred McKay

Spiritual Reflection

As Pope Francis goes to Ground Zero to pray with other religious
leaders, please join them with your prayers. Here is a prayer for the
preservation of peace and justice from the Roman Missal:

O God, who show a father’s care for all,
grant, in your mercy,
that the members of the human race,
to whom you have given a single origin,
may form in peace a single family
and always be united by a fraternal spirit.
Through Christ our Lord.

Johnny Appleseed!

Today the First Grade Class is celebrating Johnny Appleseed Day. His
Birthday is tomorrow! ht –

Mission Statement

The Charleston Catholic School educates a socially diverse student
body in a nurturing family environment within the sacred tradition
and teachings of the Roman Catholic Church. Teachers challenge the
students to discover their own unique gifts through creative inquiry
and critical thinking in the core academic subjects and the arts.
Our small, loving environment enables students to learn self
discipline through responsible decision-making and to develop a sense
of compassion for others.

Box Top$ Due Friday, September 25th

September 22, 2105

Dear Charleston Catholic School Parents,

Just a quick reminder that this Friday, September 25th is the last day to turn in your Box Tops for Education for the fall challenge!

Remember to put them in a ziplock bag and put your child’s grade and teacher on the outside of the bag. All we need to collect is 500 more and we will meet our goal and the children will receive a school wide T.A.G. Day.

As always, thanks for your willingness to help. It is really appreciated.
